Alex Coghe’s Street Photography Highlights August 2025

It is what it is. My photography on the streets in a selection made for you.

To find the light. And the shadow. To get what is there. With simplicity.

While I enjoy doing more complex things, I feel that sometimes simplicity is very interesting and still worth preserving. Picking up a DSLR in 2025 in a popular market is a choice. An increasingly less common choice. And for that, I enjoy it more.

And here I raised the SLR at the last possible moment. I love this elegy to imperfection that emerges from this shot. I find it seductively filmic.

And here we already harmonize the discourse of complexity, through gestures and postures. Always with a hint of instinct.

Here I worked the scene a little bit more. I have several shots of this, but just this is the one where anything is working fine, according to my vision.

This flower arrangement is like a hole in the middle of the frame. That's all you see, or almost all you see. I like how I handled it.

There are legends who have built almost an entire career on a shot like this. For me, it's a simple photo that doesn't even excite me that much. But it was right to put it here, especially to say this.

There's a lot of talk about layers and color hierarchy. But how often is this actually respected? There is a good light playing here.

I tried to put in relationship here, left and right part. Too bad the part in the middle so I am not that sure it works really. And hey, not my intention to include only photos that I consider good here. Maybe I want to know what do you think about this image.

To conclude, here is another shot called, easy, nothing special. I mean…that is just instinct and being ready to catch it. There are certainly other shots that give me greater satisfaction.

THOUGHTS

It's been a complicated month, which has led me to rethink several things and consider a different way of approaching the photography subject I'm interested in.

I feel like I'm rebuilding myself once again. I can see important appreciation of my work from people who knows. Autumn is getting close and that is usually my most inpired time of the year. It is also the best period for those interested to live a real street photography experience in one of my workshops, here in Mexico.

As always. I hope this sharing from me can inspire other photographers to go out with their cameras and showing us what they make.

Good Light, guys!
