Instagram is dead and what social network is the right place for photographers in 2022

With Instagram reduced to a sort of tiktok where short videos are the priority, photographers need to know where they should post photos. And the answer is easy.

Social Media State. Alex Coghe, 2022

Social media continues to evolve and what was good before suddenly may not be anymore. It is the case of Instagram which in its CEO's words is no longer a platform that caters to photographers (assuming it ever really was) and the photographers at a certain point began to wander around, looking for a different solution to share their work. And the answer surprisingly is in an old social network: twitter.

Why twitter? Twitter is is an extremely powerful social network in which the algorithm makes the difference. In fact, it favors the meeting of like-minded people, at the same time as the use of topics and hashtags falls into the same orbit. If this can represent a problem for forming an opinion even far from one's own, in the case of photography it clearly becomes a not insignificant advantage.

With this in mind I decided to create a new account on twitter where I will focus exclusively on #streetphotography. Now you can already find me at:

If you are on twitter or you consider to create an account for your photography, please add me. I will happy to add you back.
