One to One Street Photography Workshop Mexico City: Ishika Das

Thank you for an amazing tour yesterday -- I learnt so much from you! From discussing technical pieces, chatting compositions, and exploring different types of shooting (from the hip, pull up the camera at the last second), I felt challenged to think about new techniques, and inspired to shoot much, much more!

Ishika Das

Student: Ishika Das

Location: Mexico City Downtown

Some notes

Ishika represents the ideal student for many reasons: humble and really eager to learn, with an already good ability to capture spontaneous moments, something she is used to doing by photographing her husband and friends.

During the workshop I could see a willingness to follow my advice, especially with reference to her position with respect to the subject. By showing her different parameters to set in the camera she not only accepted them but showed clear improvements.

Her approach on the street, despite having confided to me a certain shyness in approaching people, did not show particular fear. And I could see how her way of dealing with people already allows her to have a positive experience on the street.

I will continue to follow her offering my mentorship with photo review and other tips.
