Thoughts and images from my one to one street photography workshop

Yesterday I was in Downtown where I given a personal street photography workshop

Coppel - Mexico City, 2021

It is like a celebration day to me anytime i give a street photography workshop. This is why to I love to give them and share my 15 years experience as a street photographer to other photographers. It is job but for me is passion and a desire to share this love of photography with others. In all these years I have had photographers who come from all over the world to attend my classes. It is an honor but also a responsibility.

In this story I will share my point of view with my photos taken during the day. I hope to be able to make you have at least some of the sensations experienced during the day.

Going - Mexico City, 2021

An hour early I have time to do some city scouting, so I can see the energy and what's on today. Useful for me in offering a day that is as perfect as possible for my student.

Valet Parking - Mexico City, 2021

I consider this time with myself fundamental also to warm up to take pictures, aware that even if I take some shots during the workshop, my attention will be directed to the student.

Structure - Mexico City, 2021

The first real interesting shot of the day arrives when I see this structure in Zocalo, the main square of Mexico City.

Tacuba - Mexico City, 2021

Tacuba 2 - Mexico City, 2021

Calle Tacba is always full of people and a busy street is a gold mine for street photographers.I focus on the falling shadows and the contrasts they generate. The second shot is interesting in my opinion.

Ishika in action

Ishika arrived and after the introductory briefing she started shooting in front of the Bellas Artes building.

Drill-Gun - Mexico City, 2021

I show to Ishika how sometimes the details on the street can mark the difference.

Street 2

Street 3

Street 4

Street 5

Street 6

The photos I take are also in consideration of what can be a useful inspiration or reflection for my student. It happens to use freshly made shots to show certain techniques or compositional aspects.

The workshop has ended. Ishika is happy and I recommend with her to send me the images for a review. I see her happy and I am happy. We did have fun and learning in these hours. She learned and as always I also learned. Thanks Ishika to be one of my students this year! Thanks to the readers of this blog.
