Upcoming work and my Canon 5D M2

Canon 5D M2 and my upcoming assignments. This 16 years old camera in 2024 is my choice.

In a few days I will be busy with a job commissioned by an important client. It will be 6 days of work, alongside a journalist. They entrusted me with the photographic work.

I will use 3 cameras: Canon 5D, Canon Rebel T7 and Canon M200.

Cameras considered old, outdated: yet reliable, much more than certain new cameras that are constantly mentioned. I bought the 5D Mark 2 specifically for work for the client and here it will be at its baptism.

But I have already tested its qualities. The Rebel is perfect for reportage and is now an extension of my hand and my thoughts. The Rebel is attitude right from the name. The M200, the only mirrorless of the trio: did you know that it is superior to the Ricoh GR3 even if it costs less than half?

I go against it. Even with the choice of cameras. Yet I have never felt more at ease. Not even when I had the Leica. Not even when I was full of cameras because I was an ambassador for that brand that discriminates and that doesn't even deserve to be named.

I will photograph with lenses that have these focal lengths: 35.2, 38.4, 50. Focal lengths that revolve around what is the vision of the human eye.

And for me this is what it's about: showing how I see. And showing the world and what seems interesting to me and deserves to be shared.

How important is the camera you choose? Very much so, but it has nothing to do with current fashion or what you are told is perfect today. The most important thing is to work in the simplest way possible, that everything is intuitive to do what needs to be done and satisfy the client.
