These 8 days in Oaxaca with Alex Coghe and Brad Zipursky during the traditional celebrations of Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) are a unique photographic and human adventure.

OAXACA & DÍA DE MUERTOS
Día de Muertos was declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 2008. Far from being a macabre party, it is a celebration of life, memory, and family. In Oaxaca, these traditions are lived from the inside: altars in homes, cemeteries full of music and candles, parades, food, and rituals where locals welcome their dead with joy and respect.
As participants, you won’t just observe from the outside — you’ll live it from within: traveling like locals, connecting with families, tasting Oaxaca’s world-renowned cuisine, and experiencing mezcal culture at its source.

The Masterclass is a 5 days experience. It offers a combination of seminar learning, critique, discussion, project development and street shooting to refine your skills. Anything is focused to build your confidence, respect and developing your individual style as a street photographer.

This is an intensive and well-structured course where we will work for 5 days. The masterclass is a a full immersion experience focused on building you as a street photographer, perfectly balanced between classroom sessions and practical shooting walks.
Additional notes
The masterclass doesn’t include any transportation, hotel or private home, meals.
Please bring comfortable shoes, your laptop, of course your cameras, charger and batteries.

Alex speaks 3 languages: Italian (Mother tongue), Spanish and English so the tuition can be held in each of these languages.
FAQs
Who is the course for? The student has a good grasp of the basic photographic principles, being interested about the street photography genre. Please feel free to contact Alex if you would like to discuss your suitability before booking.
What do I need to bring? You’ll need a digital camera (a DSLR, mirrorless or compact) with appropriate lens (ideally around 28 to 35mm, full-frame equivalent). If you’re a film user, feel free to bring your film camera, too. To fully participate in the post-production and critique work, you should bring a laptop or suitably equipped tablet.
What does it cost? The masterclass has a cost of 2500 US$.
Masterclass Coach Your workshop leader for the 5 days is Alex Coghe, a well-known Italian street photographer based in Mexico, counting with a which counts with a very good knowledge of the two cities. He has lived in Mexico since 2010. He is a published photographer who worked also on assignment for Leica Camera AG.
